As many of you know I started a new job in November of last year. It took some time to get accustomed to but once I did things ran smoothly. However, for the past 3-4 months I’ve realized that with my “job job” going so well, I neglected to push and nurture the other aspects of my life that were just as, if not more, important than my job.
My life became so mundane. I would wake up, get ready for work, come home, watch TV with hubbs (after cooking depending on the night of the week), go to sleep, and then wake up the next morning to do the same darn thing. I had lost my vigor to do the things that I loved.
One day while listening to the new Israel & New Breed album “Alive in Asia” (which is TOTALLY the bomb diggity if I may say so myself lol), I started to get ideas concerning my life. The album became an instant motivator. I began to feel compelled concerning working on my blog, organizing things for my outside hobbies/responsibilities, and even ways to become a better wife and home maker. I decided to dedicate the entire week while driving to work (listening to the same album) to praying for the motivation I needed and the strength and the boldness to not only pray and think on these things, but to DO them!
- That was my first winning move – PRAYING! You all know that I am a Christian and praying is a major part of any Christian’s life and it was just what I needed to set the ball in motion to get my life together.
- The second thing I did was – PLAN! Several months ago I bought a new journal that has in big colorful words in the front “Dream Big”. I initially bought it to plan out my dreams but it ended up being tossed to the side of my dresser and pretty much forgotten about before now 🙂 I retrieved my journal and started writing, planning, and putting to paper all of my thoughts – big and small – with the mindset that my third step WILL come to pass.
- And that third step is – DO IT!! I’ve been challenging myself to do what I write. Some of the dreams I’ve been writing are VERY big (on that home owner level) and although I can’t [for example] pick up and buy a house right now, I’ve also been writing out small plans and goals to help achieve the big ones and DOING THEM!
I can’t explain the type of liberation I’ve felt since I’ve actively started to work on my goals and dreams. I know everyone can get into a slump sometimes and even get depressed because life seems to be as boring as ever BUT you have more control than you think!
Take time out to pray, plan, and do and I GUARANTEE you will see a difference in your life! 🙂
Ironically, right after I wrote this blog post, I saw a video by one of my favorite blog personalities BronzeGoddess01 that reiterated what I said in this post and SHOWED THE RESULTS!! I was SOOO inspired by watching the video and HAD to share it. Between my blog and this video, I assure you you’ll have the inspiration to do WHATEVER it is you put your mind to!
Love you guys and gals!
