It’s that time again, the first week in 2014 and we’re all ironing out our goals and plans for 2014; I’m doing the same thing! While visiting other blogs, I found a post by Lara Casey where she talks about her 2014 visions and goals and I decided that it would be pretty cool to share some of mine with you, and wrap it all up in ONE word.
So, the word I’m choosing is INTENTIONAL.
Intentional: adjective – done with intention or on purpose.
Intention: noun – the act or instance of determining mentally upon some action or result.
Purpose: noun – an intended or desired result; end; aim; goal.
Last year, in around late November/early December, God placed that word in my heart (I know that it’s God when it pops in my heart or mind randomly, and He usually confirms it through other avenues as well). I thought it was pretty powerful, and I kept in the back of my mind.
When I read Lara’s blog post about the word of the year, the word came back in an instant and I knew that God wanted this to be my focus in 2014. Lots of times, I tend to get very robotic with things that I do on a regular basis (with work, in relationships, etc.) and I want to stray away from this and practice being intentional with EVERYTHING that I do in 2014 (and beyond).
I believe that doing this will cause me to think more before I act and therefore cause the end result to be way more effective.
Here are some things I specifically plan on being intentional about this year:
1. Healthy Lifestyle: This is by far one that has been a challenge for me for YEEEEEARS but I really believe that there’s a grace for me to overcome this year. I plan on intentionally looking up recipes and actually buying the ingredients and for real making healthy meals! Lol (I’ll be posting some of them here too!). It sounds simple, but I’ve fallen off SOOO many times and this year I plan on being consistent with it.
2. Blogging/Youtube: This is fairly new to me, as I’ve only started blogging recently (as in a week ago lol) and I began making videos in September, 2013, but I intend on setting out time to do each and do them both effectively, providing you guys with GOOD content.
3. Dating My Husband: I got married last year in July and learned very early that it’s not as easy as I thought to actually date while being married. I find that we spend a lot of time inside watching movies and cooking together, which is great, but I want to plan some actual dates outside of our home. The ultimate goal is to do this at least once a month!
4. Reading God’s Word, Praying, and Spending More Time in His Presence: This is another one of my consistent struggles. For one reason or another, I can never keep this up, but that WILL change this year! I plan on setting out time daily (whether it be on the train, when I get home from work, really early in the morning (that is the HUGEST struggle for me!)) to get this done because I know that it is SUPER important in order to nourish my relationship with Christ.
So yes, these are just some of the goals I have for 2014. I plan on also doing monthly goals to keep me on track with the bigger goals.
Now it’s time to hear from you! =)
What is your word for 2014? I’d love to hear about it!
Thanks for reading!! Love you all!!!
