I was so blessed to be able to attend an evening entitled “See It, Believe It, Achieve It: Ladies Vision Board Brunch” hosted by Nadine, one of my fabulously incredible friends 🙂 To say this event was eye-opening and extremely necessary for me would be an understatement!
Through this brunch I realized and mentally confirmed a few things:
- Women Need Women – When a group of women come together a unique chemistry is formed that is like no other. We feed off of, learn from, and encourage each other because, truth be told, only women can really “get” and understand other women.
- My eyes are captured by what my heart desires – Flipping through the magazines, I realized that I was drawn to certain types of images. What started off as an overwhelming project became easier and easier the more I let my heart guide my eyes.
- God is my “zen” – When I first looked at the big white piece of paper that was sitting in front of me along with all the magazines and possible topics I could include on my board, I felt stuck. I couldn’t think and didn’t know where to start. When I looked at my list of goals for 2015 I quieted my heart and realized that above all, God comes first and is at the center of EVERYTHING and THAT is where I started!
You all know about my desire to start a family and that’s exactly what I expressed here. Anytime I look at this part of the board, it fills me with hope and increases my faith in the fact that sometime soon I’ll become a mommy 🙂
The next portion deals with food. This part mostly represents yummy and healthy goodness. My goal right now is not to eat perfectly, it’s to make better choices one step at a time. Things like salad, granola, fruits, and nuts are all super good for me and happen to be things that I enjoy also. It’s a reminder to me that eating clean can be fun and delicious too!
Who I Am and Who I Want To Become
Next, I focused on who I am and the person I want to become. The most important part of this area of the board is the “Make A Scene” phrase that is right smack in the middle. To those who know me, I’m an outgoing extrovert who loves to talk and share whatever I can that will help those around me. But when I get around people I don’t know too well, I tend to clam up and hide myself behind others.
THIS WILL STOP IN 2015!
This year I am pushing myself to make a scene! To be bold and not hide my personality for fear of what others will say or think.
This part of the board touches a special place in my heart because it highlights some of the things that I am most passionate about. God has birthed amazing ideas in my hubby and myself and I believe that it is through these ideas/businesses we will eventually be able to not only profit but also build wealth for our family!
If you’ve never done a vision board then I encourage you to gather a bunch of magazines, pictures, scissors, glue, friends, good music, and make your vision plain!
I hope this inspires you to create one too.
Love you all dearly! 🙂
