I love to cook – you guys know that. I love creating new recipes, trying new things that I’ve found on Pinterest, and collecting recipes from my mom, grandmother, and mother-in-love. But, the reality is – I don’t always feel like cooking nor do I always have the energy to do so. THAT, my friends is when Trader Joe’s steps into the picture.
If you’re not familiar with it, Trader Joe’s is a local super market that provides lots of organic/healthy food options but still has all the junk and “good stuff” that other markets offer. I’ve compiled a list of a few of my favorite items from Trader Joe’s that truly save the save when I’m not in the mood for cooking or when I’m low on groceries.
Rustic Ciabatta Flat Bread
This flat bread is PERFECT for the weekend. When hubby and I are home, lazing around, this is the first thing we think to pop in the oven for lunch. Toss some sauce and cheese OR pesto and cheese and throw it in the oven for a few minutes and wala! Tasty pizza! If you don’t want to use it as pizza, you can use it as a side with salad or pasta.
This has saved our household PLENTY of nights and even rolled over to lunch the next day! All you do is put a little vegetable oil in a frying pan and once it’s hot, toss all the contents into the pot. You stir it around for a bit, and then it’s done! I’m mostly surprised at the flavors in this little bag – I don’t have to add a single bit of extra seasoning. It’s amazing AS IS!
Linguine And Clam Sauce
I’ve only had this one a few times but each time I’ve had it, it’s pretty yummy. Another easy, throw in the pot type of situation. There’s enough in here to keep hubby and I fully satisfied. With this specific one, I do add a little bit of extra seasonings just to pump it up a bit but all in all, so good!
Farfalle w/ Four Cheeses and Spinach
This is a lifesaver on days when I didn’t make enough food to last for lunch the next day. I bought this once before and was TOTALLY impressed. Aside from the fact that it’s really REALLY yummy (and cheesy – you know how I feel about cheese lol) what I love is that the portion size is perfect! I’m actually pretty stuffed by the time I’m done eating this which is awesometastic!
I forgot to get the prices for each of these but none of them are more than $4.99 – a total steal right?!?
If you’ve never tried any of these in the past, I definitely recommend passing by your local Trader Joes and trying them out. If you like them or even if you don’t, leave a comment and let me know!
Happy Eating!! 🙂
